David advises international companies on political and regulatory risk in the UK, including communications around public interest review processes, the UK’s investment screening regime, and competition inquiries.

His transaction experience includes Parker-Hannifin’s proposed acquisition of Meggitt plc; NVIDIA’s proposed acquisition of Arm; the acquisition of Bombardier Transport by Alstom; GKN’s response to an unsolicited bid by Melrose; the proposed merger of Sainsbury’s and Asda; the acquisition of Berendsen by Eilis; the proposed acquisition of Sky by 21st Century Fox; and News Corporation’s acquisition of Wireless Group.

 He also advises companies on post-Brexit political and regulatory developments, corporate governance policy, and public sector procurement. His past and current clients include Standard Chartered, Harbour Energy, Royal Mail Group, Prudential, the Barclays Bank UK Retirement Fund, Rothesay Life, SWIFT, and Conde Nast.

He joined Brunswick from The Spectator magazine, where he was a current affairs and politics journalist. He is a graduate of the University of Oxford.
