Brunswick enhances Public Affairs and Financial Situations capabilities in Germany with highly experienced public policy and investment banking expert.
June 28, 2022 - Brunswick Group, the world’s leading critical issues advisory firm, today announced that Andreas Nick will join the firm as a Partner in Germany on July 1, 2022.
Andreas brings three decades of international experience in public policy, investment banking and academia to Brunswick. He was Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and Head of the German Delegation between 2018 and 2022. He was a member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2021, serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and as a Ranking Member on a Sub-Committee focused on the United Nations, other international bodies and globalization. Prior to this, Andreas spent more than 15 years in investment banking, including as Head of M&A at Sal. Oppenheim and Head of M&A, Germany at UBS.
At Brunswick, Andreas will advise German and international clients on public affairs matters and financial situations, including complex private and public market transactions.

About Andreas Nick
Andreas was Vice President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and was Head of the Germany Delegation between 2018 and 2022. He also held roles as PACE’s First Vice Chair of the Committee on Political Affairs and Democracy and Vice President of EPP Group. He was a Member of the German Bundestag from 2013 to 2021, serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and a Ranking Member on a Sub-Committee focused on the United Nations, other international bodies and globalization.
Prior this this, he spent more than 15 years in investment banking, including as Head of M&A at Sal. Oppenheim and Head of M&A, Germany at UBS. He also held various roles at Barclays and Credit Suisse in both Frankfurt and London in the mid-to-late 1990s. During that time, he advised on complex M&A, LBO and capital market transactions across a range of sectors. He was appointed as Professor of Management Practice at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in 2012/13.
Andreas received a Master of International Public Policy (MIPP) from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) at Johns Hopkins University in Washington, D.C. He also holds a Doctorate and a Diplom-Kaufmann from WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar, Germany.
